Yoga for Writers
Writers tend to
spend a lot of time sitting on their fannies. They also tend to spend a lot of
time battling what is commonly referred to as Writer’s Block. But as luck would
have it, the practice of yoga is an ideal method for banishing both writer’s
butt and writer’s block!
Yoga for Writers
is a workshop designed to unlock the mind, opening it up to new ideas and
clearing the clutter that often blocks creative thinking. When combined with
breath work, the rhythmic dance of asana allows the practitioner to unwind and
relax. Linking the postures with every inhale and exhale, the writer’s mind is
freed up from the demands of daily life, and inspiration has room to bloom.
This special three hour workshop combines movement, breath and writing
exercises in an innovative manner that leaves every writer bustling with energy
and ideas. Class will begin with a meditation to focus the mind on the purpose
of unlocking the muse, followed by a gentle yet empowering physical practice to
get the blood pumping and the ideas flowing. The workshop will conclude with
writing exercises and a meditation to ensure that inspiration continues to
blossom.
